The Assimilator class was a 24th century Borg starship type, a Borg assimilator class in Borg Collective service in the 2370s decade. (ST video game: Armada)

In the 25th century, the Borg Collective and other Borg nations deployed the Assimilator-class as a battleship by the 2400s. (STO video game: Delta Rising)

In the 2410s, the Assimilator-class was deployed by the Khitomer Alliance members as a tier 6-rated dreadnought carrier. (STO website: Unparalleled: Assimilate. It. All.)

History and technical specifications[]

24th century[]

In the year 2376, the Collective deployed Borg assimilators of this type, armed with energy torpedoes and able to equip auto-assimilators, during the Borg Invasion of 2376. The clone of Locutus directed ships of this class in the attempt to seize an Omega molecule and assimilate the Alpha and Beta Quadrants. Ships of the class were more powerful than BNNorg interceptors, equivalent to Borg spheres and weaker than Borg cubes. In the 2370s, the Assimilator filled the role of a cruiser. It carried a crew of 200 Borg drones and waas overseen by 5 drones acting as officers. Basic shield strength was rated 375. It cost 500 dilithium to produce a unit. The auto-assimilator was a beam that automatically transported crew from a target to the Assimilator for assimilation. (ST video game: Armada)

In 2377, the Collective used Borg type 03-class starships as Borg assimilators instead of the Assimilator class. The Type 03 assimilators participated in the Borg Invasion of 2377. (ST video game: Armada II)

25th century[]

By 2409, the Collective deployed Assimilator-class vessels as battleships. They were larger and more powerful than the coffin-shaped Borg probes, Borg spheres but smaller and weaker than Borg cubes and a Borg octahedron. Some of the ships of this class that were commandeered by the Borg Cooperative in 2410 were designated Acculturator-class. The Assimilators and Acculturators were armed with a single omni-directional plasma beam array, a plasma torpedo launcher and a kinetic cutting beam. Abilities included the Borg shield neutralizer, assimilated tractor beam, boarding party, tachyon beam and dispersing nanoprobe assimilator. Torpedos could be fired with high yield. (STO video game: Delta Rising)

Meanwhile, the Borg Type 03 operated by the Borg Cooperative was designated a liberated Borg command juggernaut. (STO website: Legacy: Command the Borg Juggernaut!)

In the mirror universe, the Borg Kingdom employed Assimilator-class battleships. These participated in the multiversal conflict with the Aetherian Concordium and the Khitomer Alliance of the primary universe. (STO - Task Force Operation mission: "Resistance of Starbase One")

The Khitomer Alliance acquired the Assimilator class. Ships of this type required a crew to operate. The bridge held designated stations for bridge officers alongside the commanding officer: a tactical lieutenant commander, a commander doubling as engineer and miracle worker, a lieutenant commander pulling double duty as science officer and command officer, and an ensign and lieutenant or any department. (STO website: Unparalleled: Assimilate. It. All.)

In Allied service, ships of the class could be modified to represent the green-tinted Borg Collective, red-tinged Borg Kingdom or blue-accented Borg Cooperative version. The hangar bay was loaded with a pair of frigate-strength assimilation probes. The disassemble and analyze console was a special weapon that damaged opponents. Standard equipment included shield array, deflector array, impulse engines and a matter-antimatter warp core. The Assimilator was fitted with a cyclical quantum slipstream drive. Weapons included assimilated plasma beam arrays, 5 fore and 2 aft, respectively. The assimilated plasma beam array was a Borg-modified version of plasma beam arrays. (STO - Unparalleled mission: "Welcome to Earth Spacedock")

In an alternate reality where the Section 31 artificial intelligence Control merged with the Borg, Control assimilators were deployed by the Control Borg in their war with the Iconian Alliance of that universe. Like the other Borg ships of this timeline, Control assimilators were blue-tinted like primary universe Cooperative vessels but also surrounded by a diffuse nanite cloud. (STO - Kings & Queens mission: "Situation Under Control")
