Lieutenant Athendë was a Sulamid Starfleet crewperson serving aboard the USS Enterprise under the command of Captain James T. Kirk.

During the test of the intergalactic inversion drive, Athendë was assigned to Maintenance. He helped Captain Kirk into his space suit prior to his walk outside the Enterprise in intergalactic space. (TOS novel: The Wounded Sky) When the Enterprise staged a raid against a Romulan space station in orbit of Levaeri V, Athendë was one of the hundred-odd crewpeople chosen to participate.
