Atreans are a humanoid civilization native to the planet Atrea IV. Their planet was endangered by severe cooling of its molten core. The USS Enterprise (NCC-1701-D) stopped the problem for a couple of generations. (TNG episode: "Inheritance")
In 2361, an Atrean gunman attempted to assassinate Niad, prime minister of the planet Iban, but was stopped by Starfleet Ensign Zak Kebron. (NF short story: "Waiting For G'Doh")
