An attack wing was a formation of ships used to attack a specific target and saw great usage during the Dominion War.

In 2373, the combined Cardassian-Dominion fleet had several attack wings when they attacked Deep Space 9. Attack wings 1-5 were ordered to intercept the USS Defiant before it could escape. Later, attack wings were ordered to concentrate on part of the outer docking ring in order to bring down the station's shields. (DS9 episode: "Call to Arms")

In 2374, Starfleet used attack wings made up of Galaxy-class ships to engage Galor-class that were trying to set up a crossfire during Operation Return. (DS9 episode: "Sacrifice of Angels")

During the First Battle of Chin'toka, Martok commanded an attack wing of Vor'cha-class cruisers and Birds-of-Prey, which engaged Jem'Hadar fighters while Starfleet and the Romulans attacked orbital weapon platforms. (DS9 episode: "Tears of the Prophets")

In 2375, Captain Benjamin Sisko commanded two attack wings during the Battle of Cardassia. (DS9 episode: "What You Leave Behind"; DS9 short story: "Requital")
