Attila the Hun (c. 406 - 453 CE) was a tribal ruler in Europe during the 5th century.

Remarks[]

In the 1940s, Herbert Rossoff once referred to Incredible Tales editor Douglas Pabst as "Attila the Nazi". (DS9 novelization: Far Beyond the Stars)

In 2265, Gary Mitchell compared Nurse Hinch aboard the USS Enterprise to Attila the Hun. (TOS - My Brother's Keeper novel: Enterprise)

In 2270, Leonard McCoy commented on Spock's son Zar's appetite by saying, "He'd put Attila and all his Huns to shame." (TOS - The Yesterday Saga novel: Yesterday's Son)

In 2277, a group of archeologists on Varda III used a Vardan illusion machine to direct illusions toward Pavel Chekov and his landing party. When Chekov was not amused, one of Galen Tripp's scientists remarked that illusions based on Attila the Hun, Walt Disney or J.R.R. Tolkien might have worked better. (TOS - Plot-Your-Own Adventure Stories novella: Distress Call!)

Privately, in 2378, Kathryn Janeway thought Admiral Kenneth Montgomery would be more challenging to deal with than Attila the Hun. (VOY novel: Homecoming)
