Revision as of 21:28, 11 April 2013

Audrid was a Trill born in 2224, and the fourth host of the Dax symbiont.

Audrid Dax was married to Jayvin Vod and had two children, a daughter Neema, and a son, Gran. She and Vod also co-wrote several papers on symbiont chemical anomalies. In 2264, she was appointed head of the Trill Symbiosis Commission.

In 2265, Audrid Dax and Jayvin Vod joined a Starfleet expedition led by Fleet Captain Christopher Pike investigating faint life signs on a rogue comet entering the Trill system. The life sign, which resembled that of a symbiont, was instead a parasitic life form that attacked Vod, killed three Starfleet officers, and dissolved the joining bond between Jayvin and Vod. Audrid advocated letting the symbiont die as it had been corrupted by the parasite, and participated in the cover-up of this incident.

Dax and Captain Pike planned to continue sharing intelligence about any parasite activities; however, a short time later Pike had an accident on an old class J starship that left him an invalid. Soon after the accident, Pike was taken by Spock to Talos IV - as far as the rest of the galaxy was concerned, including Dax, Pike had simply disappeared altogether.

When Neema discovered the details of her father's death seven years later, and of Audrid's role in the cover-up, this led to a rift between mother and daughter that lasted eight years. After Neema was joined with the Cyl symbiont, Audrid revealed the truth to her. (DS9 - The Lives of Dax short story: "Sins of the Mother")

In 2371, Quark agreed to have Audrid's personality and memories transferred to himself during Jadzia Dax's Zhian'tara. (DS9 episode: "Facets")
