Memory Beta, non-canon Star Trek Wiki

George Herman "Babe" Ruth, Jr. (6 February 1895 - 16 August 1948) was a legendary 20th century baseball player from Earth. Nanietta Bacco, a great baseball fan, would often tell staff members stories about Ruth and other famed players. (ST novel: Articles of the Federation)

Legacy[]

In 1999 after a dinner on Earth, a time traveling Spock and Q shook hands, but the contact inadvertently swapped their personalities. Spock roleplayed a radio announcer at a baseball game describing the fabled "called shot", in which Babe Ruth pointed to right field, aiming to hit a home run in honor of an ailing youth. (ST audiobook: Spock vs. Q: The Sequel)

Ruth Field in Pike City, Cestus III was presumably named for Ruth. His 1914 Baltimore Orioles jersey was also displayed on the wall of the nearby Pioneer Pub in Pike City. (ST novel: Articles of the Federation)

In 2370, Jake Sisko played against a hologram of Babe Ruth in Deep Space 9's holosuites. (DS9 novel: The Pet)
