Baha-Shan's spouse was the last surviving member of Baha-Shan's species and lived to be three million years old as the unnamed pilot of an ancient fighter escort starship that dogged the doomsday machine for millennia across the intergalactic void.

History[]

Three million years ago, Baha-Shan's spouse first boarded the escort vessel. After the doomsday machine destroyed their homeworld, the escort and several others attempted unsuccessfully to disable the doomsday machine.

As centuries passed, Baha-Shan's spouse resided in their last surviving ship by remaining mostly in stasis, awakening one day out of every thousand, but as a result, grew insane, consoled only by warm memories of Baha-Shan.

In 2267, he revived from stasis to discover the doomsday machine had finally been disabled, but he had lost the honor of stopping it himself. In his insanity, he struck out and destroyed the science vessel SS Charles Darwin. The USS Enterprise was able to disable the ancient fighter escort, and a boarding party provided solace, but the vessel rapidly lost its structural integrity and blew up. (TOS - New Visions comic: "Cry Vengeance")

The character considered its name and its planet's name to be valueless, but treasured the name of Baha-Shan.
