The Bajor defense covariant shield array was a Bajoran technology, a Romulan-designed covariant shield array available for Allied starships and shuttlecraft in the early 25th century. (STO - New Frontiers mission: "Scylla and Charybdis")

History[]

In 2410, Starfleet, the Klingon Defense Force and the Romulan Republican Force first gained access to the Bajoran covariant shield array following the Defense of Bajor, a battle between the Allies at Deep Space 9 and Bajor against the Tzenkethi Coalition fleet under Fleet Admiral Aarn Tzen-Tarrak, and the Hur'q Swarm.

When an AQA commanding officer had this shield equipped on either starship or shuttlecraft, the vessel's hull appearance changed to a Bajoran-style grayish brown with yellow highlights. This overrode the ship's existing material. It was based on the 2400s appearance of Bajoran-operated vessels like the Denorios-class interceptor.

The shield could be combined with the Bajor defense deflector dish and the Bajor defense hyper-impulse engines to form the Bajor defense set. (STO - New Frontiers mission: "Scylla and Charybdis")
