The Balduk were a spacefaring humanoid civilization known to be fearsome warriors.

History and specifics[]

They were proud and aggressively territorial. Balduk have pitted black skin, prominent brow ridges and cheekbones, small eyes and earholes, sharp teeth, and long white manes, giving them a wolflike appearance. (TNG episode: "New Ground", SGR novel: Three)

First contact between the Balduk and the Federation was established in the year 2165, when the USS Pioneer rescued a Balduk officer from a Ware trading post and returned him to his people, who sent three Balduk defense ships to aid the Federation taskforce in their attack on a Ware repair station. (ENT novel: Uncertain Logic)

In the 2370s, Iliana Ghemor hired a Balduk mercenary to find and kill her mirror counterpart. (DS9 novel: Warpath)
