Barkaya marak was a type of soup dish served for many years on the planet Vulcan.

It was considered more plebeian than plomeek soup, but rich and satisfying nonetheless.
Nurse Christine Chapel got a recipe for the dish from her friend T'Qel and adapted it for the USS Enterprise's food processors in the 2260s decade. Her adaptation, similar to cream of spinach soup, was made from butter, onions, garlic, potatoes, spinach, basil, heavy cream, and sour cream. (TOS reference: Official Cooking Manual)
