Barnes was a 24th century Trill woman, an officer of Starfleet in the 2380s decade. (LD episode: "Second Contact")
Biography[]
Her father was a cyborg. (LD episode: "Second Contact")
Her older sister joined with a Trill symbiont. (LD episode: "Strange Energies")
Barnes was assigned to the Federation starship USS Cerritos as an ensign by the year 2380. She sometimes served on the bridge as an operations manager. (LD episodes: "Temporal Edict", "The Spy Humongous")
During a viral outbreak on stardate 57436.2, Ensign Barnes assisted Lieutenant Shaxs and the rest of the senior staff in retaking the ship. She dated Ensign Sam Rutherford but they did not pursue a relationship. Later, Barnes was in the mess hall while Rutherford discussed his dating experience with Ensign D'Vana Tendi at another table. (LD episode: "Second Contact")
In 2381, she and Rutherford resumed dating after he'd lost his memory of the previous year. D'Vana Tendi asked him not to date her. (LD episode: "Strange Energies")
Sometime after the Pandronian drills, Barnes was among the Cerritos officers getting trapped by the malevolent artificial intelligence Badgey on the holodeck. During the lower deckers' effort to earn enough merit points for Badgey to release them, Ensign Barnes oversaw the Borg cube simulation alongside Lieutenant Shaxs. (LD video game: The Badgey Directive)
In one of Badgey's drills, a hearing was held following a suspicious console explosion in engineering. Barnes said that she saw Dr. T'Ana scratching at the warp core that day. Jack Ransom said he overheard Barnes planning sabotage. Badgey had created holograms of ship's personnel acting suspiciously to sow discord among the crew. (LD video game: The Badgey Directive episode: "Drumming Up Suspects")
While they were trapped, D'Vana Tendi dreamed that Barnes and Sam Rutherford planned a burrito dinner date. (LD video game: The Badgey Directive episode: "The Naked Later")
