Memory Beta, non-canon Star Trek Wiki

A friendly reminder regarding spoilers! At present the expanded Trek universe is in a period of major upheaval with the continuations of Discovery and Prodigy, the advent of new eras in gaming with the Star Trek Adventures RPG, Star Trek: Infinite and Star Trek Online, as well as other post-57th Anniversary publications such as the ongoing IDW Star Trek comic and spin-off Star Trek: Defiant. Therefore, please be courteous to other users who may not be aware of current developments by using the {{spoiler}}, {{spoilers}} OR {{majorspoiler}} tags when adding new information from sources less than six months old (even if it is minor info). Also, please do not include details in the summary bar when editing pages and do not anticipate making additions relating to sources not yet in release. THANK YOU

For other uses, see Barry.
See St. John for other articles with titles that contain, either by relationship or by coincidence, this character's surname.

Barry St. John was a 23rd century Human male. By the late 2270s, St. John was serving in Starfleet as a security guard aboard the USS Enterprise.

St. John accompanied Admiral James T. Kirk, Dr. Christine Chapel, Lieutenant Lex Nakashima, and two other security people, Sergeant Juan Aragonés and Marta Bergstresser, on a landing party to Charlotte, one of the three moons of the planet Cathy in the Novak system. They explored a cave system containing one-third of the lost treasure of Vulcan. According to some accounts, they made first contact with a primitive species called the Teela who inhabited the caves. Also in some accounts, St. John disappeared after a battle with the Teela and was never seen again. According to other accounts, he was found unconscious in a rock crevice and sent back to the Enterprise for treatment. (TOS novella: The Vulcan Treasure)

St. John's disappearance appears to be an error on the author's part due to the complexities of the book's "plot-your-own" format.
