A friendly reminder regarding spoilers! Therefore, please be courteous to other users who may not be aware of current developments by using the {{spoiler}}, {{spoilers}} OR {{majorspoiler}} tags when adding new information from sources less than six months old (even if it is minor info). Memory Beta, non-canon Star Trek Wiki

Bartleby was a Kalpazan individual. An artist and forger, Bartleby was also a collector of art and other valuable objects.

In 2371, Grand Nagus Zek asked Morn to have Bartleby make a copy of the original scroll of the Ferengi Rules of Acquisition. Unknown to Morn at the time, Bartleby forged two copies and gave both to Morn. (DS9 eBook: Rules of Accusation)

The name of the character may be a homage to Herman Melville's short story "Bartleby, the Scrivener".
