Battle Group 5 was a task force, a Starfleet battle group military unit of Federation and allied starships deployed in the atemporal Trexelian Expanse to prepare for an invasion by a powerful but unknown enemy. (ST video game: Trexels mission: "Skirmish")
Logo[]
The insignia of Battle Group 5 was golden-yellow. The logo consisted of a stylized bird with wings spread out, in front of a downward-pointing cone, flanked by trapezoids. The same bird, albeit in green, appeared in the logo of Battle Group 6. The logo was an evolution of Battle Group 3's dull yellow bird logo. (ST video game: Trexels mission: "Skirmish")
History[]
Exploration of the Trexelian Expanse was underway by stardate 73XX.6 (circa 2270), led by the USS Valiant and its replacement, the USS Trexelprise. Due to unidentified temporal phenomena, objects and people from throughout the 23rd and 24th centuries, especially the 2260s and 2370s decades, were encountered throughout the expanse. By the time the USS Trexelprise-D and USS Voyager-V were in service, Starfleet and allied ships from both centuries began engaging in war games to test their mettle against a hostile force. Battle Group 5 vessels were classified as tier 5 in strength, and included starships from the Federation, Klingon Empire, and Cardassian Union. The fleet operated from Space Station Battle Group 5. (ST video game: Trexels missions: "Skirmish")
