The Battle near Xahea was engagement between the Federation Starfleet and Control's fleet of commandeered Section 31 ships in the year 2258. The engagement was fought in the proximity of Xahea.
Prelude[]
During the USS Discovery's investigation into seven red bursts created by the red "angel" entity, a Sphere was found by Discovery. The sphere, knowing it was dying, transferred it's data to Discovery. The data, one-hundred thousand years old, contained information it had seen and experienced. Discovery's captain, Christopher Pike describe the data as the galactic version of the Dead Sea Scrolls. The data was also able to locate Lieutenant Spock's shuttle. (DSC episode: "An Obol for Charon")
During this time, Section 31 under Captains Leland and Philippa Georgiou assisted Discovery in tracking Spock down and ascertaining the truth behind his "murders". Following the 3rd red burst at Kaminar, Pike and Section 31 agent Lieutenant Ash Tyler sent a probe into wormhole to investigate. However, something in the 28th century upgraded the probe and had it attack Pike's shuttle. Despite the probe's destruction, the probe was able to corrupt Commander Airiam and force her transmit the sphere's data on artificial intelligent to Control. During this time, Control betrayed Section 31 and killed Admiral Patar and several other Section 31 leaders. Control created holographic facsimiles of Patar to deceive Starfleet and Section 31 in order to acquire the sphere's data. Control was also responsible for creating the false evidence of Spock's "murders". Lt. Commander Airiam was able to stop control by ejecting herself into space, thus killing herself. Discovery's crew and it's chief science officer, Michael Burnham, discovered that her mother, Dr. Gabrielle Burnham, was the Red angel and tried to destroy the sphere to no effect. She was also responsible for putting the sphere in Discovery's path. During this time, Control killed Leland and took control of his body. Control attemped to take the sphere data but was stopped by Discovery's crew. (DSC episode: "Perpetual Infinity")
Following Dr. Burnham's return to the future and Control/Leland's escape from Essof IV, Discovery continued to investigate the red bursts when the fourth one appeared at Boreth. There, Pike was given a time crystal from the time keepers. With the crystal Discovery's engineer began building a new red angel suit. Unfortunately, Control, after eliminating more Section 31 operatives, attempted to take control of Burnham but failed when Spock magnetized the floor in order to destroy the Nanobots in Lt. Kamran Gant's body. Control took control of Section 31's entire fleet and moved in to seized Discovery's sphere data. Pike called in the USS Enterprise, ordered Discovery to be evacuated and destroyed along with the crystal. (DSC episode: "Through the Valley of Shadows")

Unfortunately, Discovery was unable to self-destruct or be destroyed due to the sphere data protecting itself. Burnham and Discovery's engineers resumed their work on the new red angel suit. The crew discovered a way to power the time crystal when the fifth signal appeared at Xahea. Xahea's Queen, Me Hani Ika Hali Ka Po agreed to help them by providing Discovery with her dilithium incubator to charge the crystal. As Control's fleet approached, Discovery and Enterprise began retrofitting their shuttles and landing pods for the coming battle. Burnham, being the only one with her mother's DNA, would use her red angel suit to open a wormhole and take Discovery to the future. Discovery's senior staff and crew of 90 chose to stay aboard the ship to help her. Captain Pike allowed Tyler to carry out his own mission. (DSC episode: "Such Sweet Sorrow")
The Battle[]
Section 31's entire fleet, under Control/Leland arrived and demanded the sphere data from Discovery. When Discovery refused, Control deployed thousand of drone ships to overwhelm both Discovery and Enterprise. Control fought hard against Discovery and Enterprise. Control was able to cripple Enterprise by lodging a torpedo on her hull. Admiral Katrina Cornwell was able to disarm torpedo but had to stay behind to detonate it at the cost of her life. Tyler returned with reinforcements from Kaminar under Priestess Siranna and several ships under Chancellor L'Rell. The Klingons were able to destroy several of the stealth ships while the Kelpiens were able to destroy the drones.
As Burnham donned the red angel suit, Control/Leland boarded Discovery in an attempt to retrieve the data. However, Control was confronted by Commander Nhan and Captain Georgiou. The three of them fought each other until Georgiou was able to trick Control into walking the reaction cube. There, she was able to magnetize the cube's floor and effectively "kill" Control's nanobots in Leland's body. During this time, Burnham and Spock realized that she was the red angel who started the seven red bursts and had to send the signals before she and Discovery could travel to the future. However, Spock's shuttle was disabled and he had to beam back to the Enterprise. To help guide Discovery to the future, Burnham sent the sixth burst to help them. Burnham promised that she would send the seventh and final signal once she arrived to let him know. As Burnham and Discovery entered the wormhole, Control's fleet was rendered inert were destroyed by the Enterprise, the Kelpiens and the Klingons.
Aftermath[]
Following the battle, Pike, Spock, Chin-Riley, and Tyler were debriefed by Starfleet command. They reported that Discovery was destroyed with all hands. At Spock's recommendation, Starfleet erased all records about Discovery's spore drive, it's crew and that all participants would be barred from mentioning Discovery and it's crew under penalty of treason. Tyler, due to his "unique" circumstances, was promoted to Commander and named as Section 31's commander. Tyler made it Section 31's mission to ensure that threats similar to control would not happen again. Only Ambassador Sarek and his wife Amanda were immune from Spock's recommendation. The Federation and Klingon Empire held a conference on Vaset III to discuss continuing the peace started by Enterprise and Discovery. However, the conference ended when the Shadows of Kahless attacked and attempted to capture L'Rell in order to end her reign. She, Pike and Spock were able stop the Shadows from goal. Despite successful outcome, She chose to eliminate her enemies on Qo'noS instead of pursuing peace. (DSC - Aftermath comics: "Issue 1", "Issue 2", "Issue 3")
124 days after the battle, the seventh red burst was seen by the Enterprise. Only Spock, Pike and Chin-Riley knew of it's significance. Unbeknownst at the time, several pre-warp species and planets had observed the battle through their telescopes. In 2259, the Kiley of Kiley 279 were able to reverse-engineer Matter-antimatter reactors and use it to build a warp bomb. The USS Archer under Commander Chin-Riley attempted to make first-contact with the Kiley, but were captured by the Kiley. The Enterprise arrived and rescued Chin-Riley's landing party. Pike was able to convince Kiley 279's factions to use warp as a drive instead of a weapon and to seek membership with the Federation. Distant future[]
Commander Burnham landed on Hima in 3188. After her landing, she sent the red angel suit back into the wormhole in order to send the last red burst before the suit's self-destruction. She became a courier in order to learn about The Burn for the following year. Discovery crash-landed on The Colony in 3189. Discovery and it's crew were then rescued from parasitic ice by Burnham and her friend, Cleveland Booker. Together, they were able to find Federation Headquarters and rejoined what was left of Starfleet under C-in-C Fleet admiral Charles Vance.
