The Battle of Qo'noS was a major battle between the Undine and the Klingon Empire, United Federation of Planets, and Romulan Republic, during the Undine War.

Overview

The Battle of Qo'noS was the second major battle of the Undine invasion of the Beta Quadrant. While a smaller Undine force attacked Earth as a diversion, the main force went toward Qo'noS. The Klingon fleet engaged the Undine bioships and held them off for a while. Upon the defeat of the Undine fleet sent to Earth, the Federation realized that it had been a diversionary attack and Qo'noS was the real target. A combined Federation-Romulan-Klingon task force under the command of Rear Admiral Tuvok left Earth space and arrived in Qo'noS space during the battle. Their arrival went unnoticed by the Undine due to the debris created over a century ago by the destruction of the Praxis moon. From the IKS Bortasqu' battlecruiser, Koren leads the rest of the task force in attacking the Undine. During the fighting that followed, an Undine planet killer arrived. Tuvok used USS Voyager's last nanite torpedo on the Undine, after which the task force provided Captain Va'Kel Shon with cover, as he approached the planet killer with the USS Aquarius. He destroyed the planet killer by ramming his ship into it, while Voyager teleported him out.(STO mission: "Surface Tension")

Aftermath

The victory over the Undine, the revelation of their manipulation of the interstellar powers on the Alpha and Beta Quadrants (including getting the Klingons and Federation into a shooting war) and their invasion resulted in a cease-fire between the Klingon Empire and the Federation, ending the Federation-Klingon War and reestablishing the Federation Alliance to deal with the Undine invasion.
