Bavoda was a 23rd century Fayon man who served as the Emperor of Fayo.

Biography[]

Bavoda succeeded his father as emperor and lived in a large palace in the capital city. Some Fayons regarded him as a tyrant, or called him "Bavoda the Butcher". His son Yano secretly lead rebel forces vying for democratic reforms.

In 2266, a landing party from the starship USS Enterprise visited Bavoda. The emperor asked them to enroll Yano in Starfleet Academy so he could learn more about the sciences and arts. Five hours after he boarded the Enterprise, however, Yano chose to exchange himself in hostage negotiations with rebels. Bavoda was enraged to learn that James T. Kirk had lost his son and slapped Kirk. He kicked the landing party off the planet, vowing to file a formal protest with the Federation Council.

Kirk secretly returned with Spock and Montgomery Scott to rescue Yano and became embroiled in the prince's rebellion. When Bavoda's trusted Colonel Lam was exposed plotting to kill Yano, Bavoda abdicated the throne, placing his crown on Yano. (TOS comic: "Prince Traitor")
