Bedford was a Human man who lived on the planet Earth in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

Biography[]

Bedford was a friend of the scientist Cavor, and assisted him in his experiments, recording them in journals. On 12 April 1901, he witnessed Cavor enter his spacecraft to test his cavorite, but both the scientist and the vessel disappeared. Bedford later gave his journals to a writer he knew, H. G. Wells, and Wells used Cavor and Bedford as the basis for fictional characters of the same name when he wrote The First Men in the Moon, in which he had Cavor and Bedford travel to the Moon. (TOS - New Visions comic: "The Rhyme of the Ancient Mariner")
