Bedo was a 23rd century Oordon native man who rose to become a military captain.

History[]

In 2266, Bedo was exposed to de-aging radiation released by an earthquake. 193 days later, he appeared to be six or seven years old, and served as Emperor Wenomi's personal guard.

He carried a crossbow and wore a metal helmet. He remembered a childhood fable, the man in the sun, believing that it would explain the presence of humanoids on other planets.

Bedo leveled his crossbow at a landing party from the Federation starship USS Enterprise in defense of Wenomi. Later, General Macador ordered Bedo to bring a Bow of Many Knives to kill the landing party. But Montgomery Scott reminded Bedo of the fable he liked, and when Elya told Macador to stop, Kirk was able to knock Macador down and end the confrontation. Bedo then brought them the Book of Nooaja so that Wenomi could show them their history.

After the source of the radiation was buried, Leonard McCoy brought Elya and Emperor Wenomi an antidote that would restore Bedo to his proper age, but Elya preferred that he and the other survivors grow back to adulthood naturally, giving them more time to restore their civilization.
