Beijing (formerly referred to as Peking) was a large city in the nation-state of China on Earth. Various starships were named after the city.

In the 23rd century, the brothers Lao Zhiming and Lao Qixhu grew up in Beijing in the 2230s and 2240s. While Zhiming joined Starfleet, Qixhu, who suffered from Pelleter's syndrome, worked under the auspices of Assist Services. Their parents also lived in Beijing. Later in life, Ensign Lao remembered snowfall in Beijing and going to school, while Qixhu stayed behind unable to understand why he could not join his brother.

The RPG The Dominion War Sourcebook: The Fires of Armageddon, published by Last Unicorn Games after they had lost their Star Trek license, states that when the Breen attacked Earth in late-2375, one of their targets was Beijing.
