Belgium was a nation-state on Earth, part of the European Alliance.

History and specifics[]

The country bordered the Netherlands, France and Germany. Its inhabitants spoke the languages of these neighboring countries. (TOS novelization: The Voyage Home)

In 2267, Captain James T. Kirk compared Belgium and Armenia to Organia as lying along an invasion route without adequate defenses. (TOS episode: "Errand of Mercy", TOS - Errand of Fury novel: Sacrifices of War)

Major cities located in Belgium include Brussels and Antwerp. One native of this land was one-quarter Betazoid negotiator Devinoni Ral, born in the year 2325. (TNG episode: "The Price")

In 2372, a Federation conference being held in Antwerp was targeted by the Dominion. The conference was disrupted and many left dead after a Changeling infiltrator made its way into the conference and set off an explosive device. Alternate realities[]

In an alternate timeline accidentally created by Leonard McCoy saving Edith Keeler's life in March 1930, after France, Belgium was invaded by Nazi Germany prior to 1944 after it captured Czechoslovakia, Poland, Denmark, and Norway. (TOS - Crucible novel: Provenance of Shadows)

In an alternate alternate version of the 1940s decade, Vladimir Lenin's assassination in 1916 reduced Russia's threat potential to Germany, which was able to overtake Belgium after France during World War II. (ENT episode: "Storm Front")
