Benjamin Spock (May 2, 1903 – March 15, 1998) was a Human male physician who lived during the 20th century. He was famous for his views on infant and child care. He was also a noted political activist and pacifist.
Professor Jeremy Grayson, a later peace advocate, considered Doctor Spock a predecessor. When Spock met Grayson, one of his maternal ancestors, after being sent back in time to Earth in the year 2045, the professor asked if the two were related. Grayson then decided to call Spock "Ben" in the late doctor's honor. (TOS novel: Strangers from the Sky)
