The Benthan Protectorate was an interstellar nation, an empire controlled by the Benthan species, located in the Vyntadi sector block of the Milky Way Galaxy's Delta Quadrant. (VOY episode: "Vis à Vis")

History[]

The Federation first encountered representatives of the Protectorate in the year 2374, when two Benthan patrol ships of the Benthan Guard under the command of Commander Avek attempted to retrieve an experimental starship with a coaxial warp drive that had previously been stolen by the identity-thief Steth, and was then piloted by Lieutenant Tom Paris of the Starfleet starship USS Voyager, in the Kotaba Expanse. In 2410, the Benthan Protectorate became a member of the Delta Alliance, an international military pact. (STO - Delta Quadrant mission: "Alliances")

The Benthan Guard participated in the Second Battle of Earth alongside Khitomer Alliance powers and the Dominion against the Iconian Empire. It was the first battle in known history to include nations from all four quadrants of the galaxy. (STO - The Iconian War mission: "Midnight")
