The Bering Strait is a body of water on Earth.

In 1986, the time traveling Federation Starfleet crew in command of the HMS Bounty traveled to the strait in order to rescue whales George and Gracie from a hunting vessel. The whales and water from the strait were successfully beamed aboard. (TOS movie: The Voyage Home)
