Berkeley University (officially University of California, Berkeley) was an institution of higher learning located in Berkeley, California on Earth.
When James T. Kirk and Spock traveled back to the year 1986, Kirk explained Spock's unusual behavior on his experiences while attending Berkeley in the 1960s, and having taken "too much LDS." (TOS movie: Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home)
Berkeley was considered one of the most conservative universities on Earth throughout most of the early 23rd century, though it was home to the student group Students for Stars for the People. (TOS novel: Prime Directive)
