The Beta Corvela system's orbit was the location of a planetary system, including Trixex, a Federation colony in the 23rd century. (FASA RPG module: The Federation)
- The stellar notation using the Greek language letter "beta" indicates that there might be a star group or constellation of some sort named "Corvela", of which Beta Corvela would logically be indicated to be the second most prominent star or system. "Corvela" itself sounds similar to the names of the Corvus and Vela constellations, and is possibly related, although those two constellations do not border one another so there's no data on which to base such an assumption.
