Beta Epsilon VI was a planet, the sixth planet of the Beta Epsilon system, located in the galaxy's Alpha or Beta Quadrants. It was the homeworld of a developing civilization.
History and specifics[]
This class M planet had several continents and oceans. It had an orange-colored sky and nominal gravity. Life included birds, a large four-legged lizard species, a large predatory pterosaur-like avian, large centipede-like creatures, grasses, and several types of trees. Terrain included plains, rivers, woods, cliffs, and caverns.
By the 2280s decade, its pre-industrial population rated B on the Richter Scale of Culture. The world's primary species had invented agriculture and built villages. They domesticated at least one animal species for use as mounts, and to pull plows and carriages.
In the year 2285, an escape pod from the USS Valor crashed on Beta Epsilon VI, killing all aboard except for Captain Philip Hodges. He emerged amidst a civil war, which immediately ended as the new arrival was thought to be a deity. In violation of the Prime Directive, Hodges began to advance their technology.
Later that year, a rescue party led by Rear Admiral James T. Kirk retrieved Hodges and his mortally-wounded wife Lylla from the planet. (TOS comic: "Mortal Gods")
