The Beta Myamid system's orbit was the location of a number of worlds, including eighth planet Beta Myamid VIII. Beta Myamid VIII was home to a Federation supply depot that was subjected to two Elasi pirate attacks around the year 2268. (TOS video game: Star Trek: 25th Anniversary)
The system was in the general vicinity of Starbase 3 and non-aligned planets jointly held by the Krikiki and Den-Kai civilizations.
In 2291, the USS Excelsior was delivering emergency medical supplies at Beta Myamid when Starfleet asked Captain Hikaru Sulu to take a shuttle to Starbase 3. (Captain Sulu Adventures audiobook: Envoy)
