The Betreka Nebula Incident was the name given to the cold war between the Klingon Empire and the Cardassian Union that lasted from 2328 to 2346. It began as a dispute between Klingon and Cardassian forces over Raknal V. (DS9 episode: "The Way of the Warrior"; TLE novel: The Art of the Impossible)

In 2372, Commander William T. Riker read up on every log and historical record pertaining to conflicts inside nebulae, including the Betreka Nebula Incident. (TNG eBook: A Sea of Troubles)
