Ensign Bill Johnson was a Starfleet officer who served aboard the Federation starship USS Enterprise in the 2260s decade.
Biography[]
His paternal grandfather was a Tarl from Epsilon Indi. This bit of genetics made Johnson green, tall, and smart. The downside was that he had to ingest copious amounts of alcohol for sustenance and avoid all acidic beverages and foods while on duty, to prevent acid intoxication. His preferred beverage was brandy.
In 2269, Johnson was assigned to the hangar deck. At Spock's request, he prepared a shuttle to lift off within a moment's notice that would take a security squad to the surface of the planet Anomaly to rescue Captain James T. Kirk. Bish Davoff, Bill Hixon and Alan Huff subsequently took the shuttle.
Later, while servicing a shuttlecraft, he was stunned to see the five shuttles from Anomaly had reappeared in their bays without explanation along with 12 people, including Kirk. Johnson reported burn streaks on the hull of Kirk's shuttle. (TOS novel: Planet of Judgment)
