See Zane for other articles with titles that contain, either by relationship or by coincidence, this character's surname.

Bivander Zane was an Elasi pirate captain. By the late 2260s, Zane was one of the most wanted criminals in Federation space.

He was also known for having an almost cult-like following by his crew. In 2269, he was one of the Elasi who allied with the Vardaine Doctor Ies Bredell, and encountered the USS Enterprise near Espoir Station. Hailing the Enterprise, Zane demanded that the Enterprise surrender to him, however his demands were rebuffed by Captain James T. Kirk. Zane proceeded to attack the Enterprise with two Elasi frigates, but was quickly defeated. (TOS video game: Judgment Rites)
