Blargle

Mr. Blargle.

Mr. Blargle was a literary character created in an alternate reality by Captain Daniel Fontana.

History and specifics[]

Join Doc Pleasance in your very own LA-BOR-ATORY and build the creature of your dreams ... or nightmares! For a complete set, be sure to ... engage the unsavory services of Mr. Blargle."

Mr. Blargle was similar to the deformed Igor character seen in Frankenstein movies. He and Ubalda assisted mad scientist Doc Pleasance in experimenting on "the creature" in a fictional biology lab. Blargle's wheeled table contained an exposed brain, a skull, and a tentacled head.

A depiction of Blargle labeled as "the horrid little man" appeared on a comic book page advertising the characters for sale as action figures in a play set, each sold separately. Blargle was $1.99 plus $2 shipping; allow 6 weeks for delivery.

In the year 2269, Fontana created Blargle and the others after discovering he was the writer/artist in a comic book alternate reality. Captain James T. Kirk, Commander Spock, Shiboline M'Ress, and Nyota Uhura drifted weightlessly across the gigantic ad, unsure what to do. (TAS comic: "The Scheimer Barrier")
