The Bline were an alien civilization native to the homeworld Blinogu, somewhere in the galaxy's Alpha or Beta Quadrants. Their home planet's destruction caused the desperate dispersal of this species, fleeing from their world in flimsy solar sailing vessels. Unfortunately their actions were in vain, and the Bline became extinct.
In the year 2270, Spock compared the flight of colonists from Skagway to that of the Bline from Blinogu, which he referred to as interplanetary "boat people". (TOS novel: The Rings of Time)
