  • The comic book adaptation of Star Trek III: The Search for Spock was published in between the two issues of this story.
  • Saavik leaves the Enterprise for the Grissom along with David Marcus at the conclusion of the second part.
  • While the cover art for the first chapter of this story depicted the Kirstie Alley version of Saavik, the cover of the second issue depicts her as resembling Robin Curtis, who took over the role in Search for Spock.
