Blood Gnat was a 23rd century Kzinti fighter in service to the Kzinti Patriarchy.

Blood Gnat was the flagship of the Mimit Defense Squadron, constructed and launched from the Kzinti ground base on Mimit.
In 2274, Blood Gnat led a surprise attack on the Federation starship USS Enterprise in orbit of Mimit. When a SW7-class shuttle fired at them, its CO ignored them, setting his sights on the Enterprise.
Blood Gnat was the only Kzinti vessel to survive the engagement. While the Enterprise was occupied with Kzinti warship Giant Killer, Blood Gnat landed at the destroyed Kzinti ground base to recover retreating Kzinti and then relaunched to rescue Kzinti from the disabled Giant Killer. Now exiled from Kzin, her crew piloted Blood Gnat towards Free Trader space. (TOS comic: "The Wristwatch Plantation")
