Bob Taplin was a 23rd century Human man who resided on the planet Wall, the sixth planet of the Bahr system in the Triangle sector.

Biography[]

Taplin was an experienced cargohandler at a Wallport cargo loading organization, and worked for many years with Jaarod Holona. Prior to 2289, when he noticed that the facility was loading cargo aboard Alisa, an Argon-class freighter whose crew included Holona's son Jaan Holona, Taplin stopped by to apologize for the slow rate they were loading the ship's cargo of titanite ore. The spaceport's semi-automated loaders couldn't fit through the freighter's cargo hatch, leaving the work to be done by hand using portable antigravs. He told Holona that their old Series F carriers could have done the job, but these were sold to a warehouse not too long ago.

Thanks to the tip, Holona tracked down the warehouse and arranged to borrow several of the old carriers. This allowed the cargo to be loaded fast enough for Alisa to depart and meet its delivery deadline on Freeloader.

In 2289, Captain Anson Robertson described the incident for article in Spacelanes magazine. (FASA RPG module: Spacelanes: The Magazine of Interstellar Trade)
