Borg Advance

"Borg Advance" is an episode, i.e. a chain of missions, in Star Trek Online. It is available to players from all factions.

"Borg Advance" was formerly two separate episodes titled "Borg Collective" and "Undine Advance", but the two were merged in Season 9: A New Accord on 22 April 2014 and several missions were rewritten or removed and replaced.

Summary[]

Beginning with the bridging mission "Report to Gamma Orionis" the player investigates Borg activity in various systems in Gamma Orionis sector block that appears to be tied to the recent upswing in Undine movements. The player discovers that one group of Borg has worked out a method to overcome 8472's resistance to assimilation, and must eliminate this knowledge before it can be transmitted to the rest of the Borg Collective. (STO missions: "Where Angels Fear to Tread", "Assimilation")

The player then joins an expedition into fluidic space led by Tuvok, now a rear admiral and commander of USS Voyager, and discovers that the Iconians are responsible for provoking the Undine into invading the nations of the Alpha Quadrant. (STO mission: "Fluid Dynamics")
