The Borg Invasion of 2376 was a 24th century armed conflict, a war between the Borg Collective and a hastily reformed Federation Alliance started when the Borg invaded the Alpha Quadrant to capture an Omega molecule, or Particle 010, in the year 2376. The invasion affected all four quadrants of the galaxy. (ST video game: Armada)

Original timeline

In the unadulterated timeline that was turned into an alternate timeline due to the intervention of the USS Premonition, the Borg attacked Starbase 612 shortly after stardate 53550.8, during a time when Starfleet was reconstructing its holdings in the aftermath of the Dominion War. The attack on Starbase 612 marked the beginning of the invasion. (ST video game: Armada mission: "Premonitions")

Ambassador Spock attempted to negotiate a truce between the Romulan Star Empire and the Klingon Empire but was assimilated en route to the conference. (ST video game: Armada mission: "Once and Again")

That prevented reinforcements from allied powers to arrive in the Sol system and support Starfleet's last stand at Earth. The Borg, led by Locutus, defeated Starfleet and assimilated Earth. (ST video game: Armada mission: "The Twilight Hour")

In the aftermath, Bajor, Vulcan and Qo'noS were assimilated as well. By the time Starfleet constructed the Premonition-class timeship, the Federation barely existed. Captain Thaddius Deming and the USS Premonition (NX-4612) originated from that timeline. Deming took the Premonition back to the year 2376 to alter history. (ST video game: Armada mission: "Premonitions")

Changed timelines

The Premonition, followed by a pair of Borg spheres, exited a time portal to the Barisa sector on stardate 53550.8. After dispatching the Borg ships, Captain Deming warned Captain Jean-Luc Picard of the USS Enterprise-E about the impending invasion. Although Picard wanted to uphold the Temporal Prime Directive, Deming convinced Picard that the outcome of the invasion necessitated changing history. The attack on Starbase 612 would commence within the hour. Picard agreed to take action and informed Starfleet Command. The Premonition was damaged and would return to Sol for repairs. (ST video game: Armada mission: "Premonitions")

Admiral Hawthorne contacted Ambassador Worf aboard the USS Avenger, which operated at Ba'ku in the Briar Patch, about the Borg invasion. Hawthorne granted the ambassador a field promotion to the rank of captain, and gave him the Avenger to command for the duration of the crisis. The admiral tasked Worf with gaining support from the Chancellor of the High Council of the Klingon Empire, Martok, son of Urthog. (ST video game: Armada mission: "Paradise Revisited")

The Borg invaded Sector 303 in the Gamma Quadrant to assimilated a Dominion cloning facility. The facility was used to recreate Locutus. (ST video game: Armada mission: "Resurrection")
