MAJOR SPOILERS
WARNING! This article contains MAJOR spoilers for the recently released mission Situation Under Control. Caution is advised.

A Borg drone was an assimilated individual within the Borg Collective. Drones originated of numerous species the Borg had assimilated. Upon assimilation, a drone would typically lose its hair and take on a paler grey/green skin complexion.

Overview[]

When under control of the Collective's hive mind drones would act single minded in their goals and focus on their assigned task above anything else. Anything that they did not consider a threat would be ignored, however once something has been identified as hostile drones would work to assimilate or otherwise eliminate the threat. (TNG episode: "The Best of Both Worlds")

Not all drones were created to an equal specification and some were designed for a specific task, specialised drones included medical repair drones and tactical drones. (VOY episode: "Dark Frontier")

Starfleet R & D believed that a group of five Borg drones were enough to produce their own group mind. (TOS novel: The Return)

The Starfleet conspiracy discovered by the crew of the USS Enterprise-D in 2370 stored a Borg drone, and Borg alcove, in its secret facility on, or near, Earth. (TNG comic: "An Inconvenient Truth")
