Ensign Bounds was a 23rd century human man, a Starfleet officer assigned to the Federation starship USS Enterprise in the late 2260s.
Ensign Bounds was assigned to the Enterprise's security division. He was described as burly.
History[]
In 2269, Bounds was a member of the first landing party that visited the planet Anomaly, traveling with Captain James T. Kirk in the first shuttle along with Sharon Follett, Octavio Hernandez and security officers Hevelin and Mark Moore.
Phasers and other technology operated sporadically on the surface. When a man-eating flowering vine plant seized Hevelin and began to digest him, Bounds lit the plant on fire, but it was too late.
Bounds was shot in the head with an arrow by the locals, but managed to survive because the arrowhead struck from an oblique angle and bounced off. Later, when Lieutenant Bill Hixon went missing, Bounds volunteered to help search, but due to his head injury, Leonard McCoy wouldn't allow it. (TOS novel: Planet of Judgment)
