Boyelip was a Selkie male who served as a senior aide, with the rank of Lieutenant commander, to Fleet Admiral Leonard James Akaar in the late 24th century.

In 2387, Boyelip greeted Captain Jean-Luc Picard and Commander Beverly Crusher after arriving on Earth via the Galileo. He led the two officers to Admiral Akaar's office, but remained outide.

After their meeting with Akaar concluded, Boyelip once again escorted Picard and Crusher to a nearby landing platform. Boyelip offered to arrange accommodations for Captain Picard, however Picard informed it wouldn't be necessary. He watched as the two senior officers boarded the shuttlepod and went back inside once the hatch closed. (TNG novel: Collateral Damage)
