Brangwa were a type of canine animal lifeform native to the planet Cardassia. By the 24th century, the brangwa had become extinct. The brangwa lived in the mountainous region of Rogarin, where early Cardassians used their hides to record poetry and stories of their culture.

Enabran Tain had an extensive collection of Brangwa hide scrolls. (DS9 novel: A Stitch in Time) Bennek also had a collection of Brangwa scrolls which had been passed down in his family for generations. (TLE - Terok Nor novel: Day of the Vipers)
