For other uses, see Brian.

Brian was a 23rd century Human male, one of Montgomery Scott’s nephews.

Biography[]

Scott was particularly attached to Brian. In the late 2270s decade, Scott told James T. Kirk that he loved Brian the most out of all of his nieces and nephews. Scott described him as a gifted lad, talented in engineering, and quite bright.

In the year 2279, Brian graduated from Edinburg Tech. Scott had arranged for Brian to obtain a Starfleet commission after graduating, but Brian rejected the offer and instead joined the Diplomatic Courier Corps and volunteered to become part of the courier clone program. Unfortunately, he died in an accident during the medical procedures that would have fashioned two genetically engineered clones of him to work with him on assignments.

Eight months later, when Corps clones Lyssa-1 and Lyssa-2 visited the USS Enterprise, Scott's resentment and anger at his nephew's death turned into sour prejudice for the visitors. (TOS comic: "Send in the Clones")
