Brian Hayakawa was a Human man and a member of Starfleet in the 24th century.

He served aboard the USS Starbound circa 2359, on a training cruise for Starfleet Academy graduates. After the ship was attacked and crippled by Orion pirates, Hayakawa worked with Karin Orlov to construct a radio distress signal to contact Starbase 18, though it wasn't expected to reach its destination for some months.
