Brief Encounter at Farpoint is a Starship Trekkers comic strip, appearing in Star Trek Magazine. This story is a sequel to The City on the Edge of Forever.
Plot
Ensign Bunsen and Lt. Bucket beam down to a desert planet, where the Gateway to Forever is kept. There, they discuss Bucket's nature as a robot, before Bunsen jumps into the portal into the past.
When Captain Clinch and Bucket follow him through the portal to prevent damage to the timeline, they discover it has already been altered -- Bucket is now female, and Ann Dorian is now the ship's captain.
