The Bringloidi were a Human culture which developed on the colony world of Bringloid V beginning in the early 22nd century.

The original Bringloidi were largely of Irish descent, and adherents of Neo-Transcendentalism, a philosophy which advocated a return to a simpler, nature-based way of life. They left Earth on November 27, 2123 aboard the SS Mariposa, along with another group of colonists, who would later settle the planet Mariposa. This colony was subsequently forgotten in the chaos of the period.

By the mid 24th century, the star Bringloid had become increasingly active, affecting the climate of Bringloid V, eventually forcing the Bringloidi to abandon their farms and take shelter in caves. In 2365, an emergency signal from an orbiting satellite alerted Starfleet to the colony's existence, and the USS Enterprise-D was dispatched to investigate. That ship rediscovered the forgotten colony, and evacuated the entire Bringlodi population from the endangered planet. Bringloidi leader Danilo Odell then helped Captain Jean-Luc Picard locate the likewise lost Mariposan colony. When it was learned that the Mariposans, who had resorted to cloning centuries earlier, were facing a severe population decrease, it was agreed that the Bringloidi would reunite with the Mariposans and merge their two societies on Mariposa. (TNG episode: "Up the Long Ladder")

The united society took the name of the United Ficus Colony, and was headed by both a Mariposan and a Bringloidi Prime Minister. Danilo Odell held the position of Bringloidi Prime Minister until his death sometime before 2376, following the end of the Dominion War, and he was succeeded by his daughter, Brenna. However, the two groups remained distinct form one another, and endured a significant degree of strain during the first decade following reunion. (SCE eBook: Out of the Cocoon)

In 2377, Quark travelled from Deep Space 9 to Ferenginar aboard a crowded transport ship, aboard which a Bringloidi vomited on him. (DS9 short story: "The Last Tree on Ferenginar: A Ferengi Fable From the Future")
