Lieutenant Commander Brittany Marata was a 23rd century Starfleet officer and chief psychiatrist of the USS Republic under the command of Captain Richard Patterson in the 2260s decade.
Biography[]
Marata was one of the foremost experts in the study of the psychology of starship crews. (TOS video game: Judgment Rites)
In 2269, Marata was killed in the Vardaine-built USS Enterprise's attack on the Republic. James T. Kirk, who had boarded the Republic to investigate the attack, was with her as she died. Kirk remarked that he had studied xenohistory with her at Starfleet Academy. (TOS video game: Star Trek: 25th Anniversary mission: Vengeance)
As the final mission "Vengeance" in Star Trek: 25th Anniversary differs between the floppy disk and CD-ROM versions, so too does the fate of Brittany Marata. She survives the attack with severe injuries in the floppy disk version, but dies in the CD-ROM version.
