Brother Chub was one of the Acolytes of the Stars on the planet Pollux V in the 23rd century.
He headed up the part that sought to rescue Brother Kandrey. Then he was assaulted by infernal beings which emerged from the Mount Idyll. He suffered severe physical injuries to his head and arms, and developed the nugaireyn infection. He was brought back down the mountain and tended by the Brothers but he required hypo-dytoxin.
An away team of the USS Enterprise with Captain James T. Kirk, Spock, Dr. Leonard McCoy and Ensign Everts arrived on the planet to investigate. They gathered some Laraxian berries and with the help of Brother Stephen's Ardak-4 molecular synthesizer they produced the hypo-dytoxin necessary to treat him.
