Brutus was a sentry who reported to General Marius on that planet’s year 3978. Brutus was one of two guards watching from the trees who caught sight of a landing party from the USS Enterprise through the underbrush. Both guards fired their rifles through the foliage at the humans, wounding Rogers in the arm. As the humans retreated, James T. Kirk fired his phaser at Brutus.
